How Sturdy is the Base Unit?

What are the units made of?

The cabinets are made of durable 5/8 inch stain resistant melamine, assembled with bolt and cam locks.

Drawers are made of high density plastic and will hold up to 12 lbs.

How easy is the assembly?

The units are very user friendly. Assembled with a Cam lock and bolt system all you will need is a Phillips head screwdriver. See Video.

Can the Base Unit fit under the Desk?

Yes, the Desk has been designed to fit 1 Base unit in the space where your legs go. This way you can tuck it away for great storage.

Can the drawers be pulled completely out of the unit?

The drawers and rails have been designed with a stopping mechanism. This way the drawer will not fly out and spill it’s contents. If you would like the drawer to come completely out simply toggle the drawer left and then right to pull it past the stopper.

My Drawer has too much resistance what can I do?

The drawer and the rails have small nobs that act as a drawer stop. If you find there is too much resistance simply take a utility knife and shave of the second bump on the drawer rail. You may do this to both sides until the desired resistance has been reached.

Will the drawers hold my 12" Scrapbook Paper?

The drawer dimension is 12"x13" and will hold any paper to a maximum size of 11 7/8" x 12 7/8", up to 150 sheets.

How much weight will one drawer hold?

The drawers can hold up to 12 lbs. You may fill your drawer full of metal punches and it will not bow. We have not had an instance where a customer has over weighted one of our drawers.

Can the drawers be stacked outside of the unit?

The drawers have been designed to interlock together when stacking. This will prevent any slipping when you have them out at your work space.

How large are the spaces in the inserts?

The 2” insert outside dimension is just shy of 12"x13". There are 15 compartments and each measure 2.25"x3.5"x2".

Does the bottom drawer require a rail?

No the bottom drawer does not require a rail. The drawer will sit and slide on the wooden bottom of the cabinet. If you are wanting a stopper on the bottom drawer you may cut off the bottom section of the rail ( the part where the drawer would normally slide on.). Also cut of the plugs that would push into the pre-drilled holes. Now glue these cut down pieces to the inside of your cabinet at the very bottom.
